Culp Valley Campout

March 28-30. This is an opportunity for those who are not able to attend the backpack to attend a car camp instead. It’s a chance to enjoy some spring weather and work on Scout skills or Advancements. Organizer: Greg Creswell

Camelback Trek II

We will be doing our second15 mile hike to complete the Camelback High Adventure Award. We will be hiking the California Riding and Hiking Trail through Anza Borrego State Park. These will be Training Hikes for Philmont. Dates are April 12-13. Organizer: Bob Chisholm and Bruce Hill

Black Mountain District Camporee

April 25-27 at Mataguay.

Joshua Tree Campout

May 9-11 at Cottonwood Campground.

Backpacking San Jacinto (the hard way)

May 17-18 we will hike up the hard way to San Jacinto. No Tram this time, instead we will go up the Devil's Slide trail and earn the San Jacinto High Adventure Award. We will be limited to 15 hikers due to the wilderness permit requirements. Organizer: Bruce Hill

Backpacking San Gorgonio

June 7-8 we will do a very strenuous hike up the Vivian Creek trail to the highest peak in Southern California. We will be limited to 12 hikers due to the wilderness permit requirements. This is a training hike for Philmont. Organizer: Bruce Hill

Summer Camp at Camp Whitsett

July 7 to August 2. Organizer: Greg Creswell

Philmont 2008

We are going to Philmont August 3-15, 2008. We have space for 12 people reserved (8 scouts and 4 adults). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a 10 day backpacking trek in the New Mexico mountains at the BSA's premier high-adventure base. The latest information can be found here.
